I have to wonder if this board really serves much of a purpose anymore. It might or might not have been useful in the past, but how many hordes of barbarians do you really get trying to cross the moat into Outsider proper nowadays?

i think if we didn't do this the bots would generate accounts and swarm the meaningful discussion on other boards

yeah i can see that we have a bit of a bot problem


But why is Outsider in particular so heavily polluted by bots? I don't think I've ever seen such a heavy infestation on an active forum. And I can't even think of any other sites that manage bot issues by practically sequestering themselves behind the digital equivalent of a moat.
